When placing the Spyder5, how far, more or less, from the lens should be placed?I ask because it is your manual Spyder is represented near the screen.I have put it at 1 meter and the measures have not been very good, much inconsistency.HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The optimal distance depends on your zoom, lamp power, manual iris etc. Go by the feedback the software provides, and keep the meter closer to the right edge of the orange box.
I wanted to say 1 meter from the lens of the project ... Is that correct?Thank you.
Hi Manni,I need some help. I just got a used ES 2000 and trying to use it in autocal. I plugged the device in and autocal does not see the device. It is saying "cannot detect sensor, check again" I plugged the device in the usb port and placed it on the calibration device as instructed. Waited about 10 seconds and clicked on the icon in the autocal. In device manager it says the device is working properly. Maybe I have the wrong driver? I found the driver in the DisplayCal software. I attached a picture of the driver. Also no indicator light on the device when I plug it in. I tried to press the side button on the sensor but still nothing.
Hi there,The DisplayCAL (ArgyllCMS) driver isn't compatible with the JVC Autocal, which needs the Windows driver. You need to disable the the Argyll driver (or uninstall it) to allow the windows x-rite driver to be loaded. It should appear under x-rite in the device configuration. Then the Autocal should be able to see it. I think DisplayCAL has somewhere instructions regarding how to swap between the OS drivers and the Argyll drivers, but that's a big downside of Argyll, at least for the i1pro2, and one of the reasons why I use CM, as I can have the same drivers for all the software I use/need (JVC autocal, CM and LS).
Hi ManniYes, I had to uninstall the ArgyllCMS driver and find the x-rite driver online. Now it works! I wanted to check my color results from the SpyderX color calibration to see how off it is. So do i Just chose log only in settings and not save the results? In the end it should show the delta E's correct?
Yes that is a bit of a pain, as HCFR requires the ArgyllCMS driver too, if you want to use an I1Pro2 or ES-2000 with both Autocal and HCFR you have to uninstall then re-install the driver ..... Fortunately for me I can use the Spyder X and ES-2000 for Autocal and the i1 Display Pro for HCFR, so no more driver switching.
I use both HCFR and Autocal and leave both drivers installed, selecting the appropriate one as required. The process is explained in the ArgyllCMS web page.To make it even easier, you can use different USB ports for the two drivers and Windows will select the correct driver depending on the port.
Yes I remember (and mentioned) the process of switching drivers being explained in DisplayCAL, but it was still very cumbersome to have to do so, especially when using both software at the same time (as I do).Does using the different USB port number mean that you can leave both the Windows driver and the Argyll driver installed, so that the Autocal find the i1pro2 and the software using argyll can find it too without any manual selection process?By the way, it's nice to have you here
