I am hoping that the chip hasn't changed to where I can no longer rip my SACD discs to the NAS. I know this is wish-full thinking though as it most likely has been changed.

Hey Mike,
It is looking pretty good for the unit to have the ability to strip out HDR from the start, rather than having to have it added in an update.

I would love for you to be right, but I'm curious what this is based on.  The last I recall, Oppo stated that this was unlikely, possibly for sure, to be present at release, and hopefully available as an update.

Unless you're speaking of just having SDR/Rec709 available (while we all want to have SDR/BT2020).

Thanks.

Don

The fact that beta units currently have this ability. :) It still could be firmware update, but if it is, it would not be a long wait.

I would assume that they are either in Asia or in the San Francisco Bay Area since they are located in the Bay. I used to work for Customs, and that doesn't look like any warehouse i have been to in the past in the bay.

I Googled that eleven digit number on the pic and it happens to be the phone number for an electronics retailer or distributor in China.

Heard some news and not real happy about it. :( Oppo is not going to allow dealers access to the 203 until a week or two after launch, so that they can get all of the initial orders.
