JVC Autocal Software V12 calibration for 2019 RS1000/RS2000/RS3000/NX5/NX7/NX9

Hi,
I solved finally...using another laptop. The only differences between the laptops and the process are:
  • The windows version. Both Windows 10 64 bit. Laptop working: version 1803. Laptop not working: 14xx.
  • In the laptop working, I never installed the datacolor software. In the previous one I first installed the software and then trying uninstalling or disabling it and never worked.

So, one of the 2 reasons is causing the problem. I am prone to think that installing datacolor sotware for spyderX, does something in the system preventing Autocal to detect the spyderX, even you unistall the software later.

And because the driver is automatically installed by windows 10 when you connect the spyderX, my advice is: DO NOT INSTALL DATACOLOR SOFTWARE. You do not need it and may cause problems with Autocal detecting the spyderX.

Thanks Manni for your help.
Now, let's calibrate.

Mario.
Revisiting this. Does anyone else have any additional guidance on getting this working with a SpyderX Pro? I have the latest model RS1000. My Autocal software is able to connect to the projector, but is not able to see the SpyderX. I also have a driver dated from 2006. Running the latest build of Win10 on a laptop specifically built for this use case.

What else ?
Wasn't sure if you meant Autocal or an update to 3.50 already.

Interesting - I ran the most recent version a few days ago and didn't have any issues.  Will be curious to see what the update all does.

Do you mean an update to the autocal software?

Just a bug fix, v1.11. “Fixed a problem that occurred in some environments.”

Yeah I still experience the same issue with the latest V12 1.11 software against my RS1000.

Am able to connect to the projector with no issues but have tried two different versions of the SpyderX Pro driver, one which ships with windows as some in this thread have suggested and one that ship with datacolor's utilities. If I run the included software on the SpyderX on any other PC/Mac it works fine.

But with the JVC software no luck...not able to detect the sensor... any ideas here I am stumped?

I don't understand why some can connect and others don't. I've done spyder x and EFI ES-2000 Spectrophotometer connects all the time. I use Windows 10.

I still can't get a correct "DCI" with "MaxBright" color temp. with 6500k it is correct.
Can someone explain this to me? thx

What software is that, that you’re using to show those plots?

What sensor?

Hi forum,
This is my first post here, so apologies if I’m doing anything wrong.

After a wild series of events (more on that after my question), I’ve acquired an rs2000 and finally have time to autocal.

I watched some tutorials and did both color + gamma with a spyderX. After reading here, apparently that was a bad idea on the color side.

Seeing as I’m new to this, my first mission is ‘do no harm.’ In that spirit, I’m loading my .init file as I type. My plan is as follows once complete:
1- warm up pj 30 min
2- perform rec709+fully open iris+lo lamp for sdr
3- set to hi lamp, wait 15 min, repeat above on hi lamp for 3d
4- do bt2020, fully open iris, hi lamp for hdr

This time, gamma only (set to 2.2- will adjust to 2.4 after), quality setting, individual. I’ve already set black floor with brightness -2 on my pj.

If I can ‘survive’ this with good log, I might be brave and try to get an i1pro2 off eBay, but am wary of getting used. I know I need the calibration plate and not sure about software... let alone how to verify if I did it right... a mission for another time.
For now, I’ll be happy to nail gamma. I also may want to experiment with dynamic iris but I’m running on 117” screen science v6 at full zoom... so manually keeping iris fully open has been best to my eyes so far, even tho I know I’m leaving dynamic contrast on the table (maybe I’ll experiment with auto 2).

Thanks in advance for any help!
—Nick
