JVC Autocal Software V12 calibration for 2019 RS1000/RS2000/RS3000/NX5/NX7/NX9

I mentioned HCFR as an example how to get the table into the lines of the xml file.
For my values I used a function from the SDK of my Klein K10-A.

Regarding the luminance difference: the Spyder was directed at the projector while the reference meter was directed at the screen.
Yes, that was what I meant. Usually the value on the diagonal is close to 1, while all the others are close to 0. When instead you are using two devices with a big difference in luminance, you get values not that close to 1.

Of course with this approach you are also putting the screen in the equation and that is a further advantage!

In theory you can also use this to "calibrate out" the difference between Autocal using full screen patterns, and the more common approach of using 10% windowed patterns for calibration.

Has anyone noticed a second matrix within that init.xml file? It is called "matrixOfCalc". Is that a kind of post-processing matrix to apply a further correction? Anybody tried to change it?

I have my spyderxpro hooked up and i'm getting ready to start my gamma calibration.  

On the install the sensor screen, it says to move my projector which is mounted in the back of the room forward, so that I get it within the little orange box.  

Any suggestions?

The software is saying the measured light level may be lower than optimal.  When this happens with the meter facing the projector (Spyder5), you simply have to move the meter closer to the projector.  The SpyderX faces the screen and the distance to the screen does not affect the measured brightness, so the software tells you to move the projector closer to the screen, which in many cases is not practical.  Instead, you can adjust the zoom to project a smaller image, which will give you more brightness.

Gamma w/spyder x running on user 1 right now. Can I knock out all the gamma calibrations for users 1-4 before moving onto color and positioning the i1pro2? Or do I have to do each user fully (i.e gamma then color for user1)before moving on to the next?

You only have to do gamma once each (low and high lamp). It uses that as a baseline for all other measurements. So do gamma 2.2, iris 0, low lamp, then the same in high lamp, then you can place your Pro2 and do all the iris settings that you use.

Sounds Good.  Just ran them and went ok.  

I just hooked up the i1pro2 and now having issues getting it to fall in the orange box after selecting the sensor.

It doesn’t really matter about the orange box when using the i1 Pro 2 for color calibration. 

Color calibration only measures 7 patterns, the 3 primary colors, 3 secondary colors, and white, all 100% luminance so they are very bright and the meter will have no trouble reading them accurately.

The total number of gamma calibrations depends on the colour profiles and lamp power you use for the four user modes.  For profiles that engage or disengage the P3 filter, you have to run separate calibrations (unless you choose the option to apply all, which is less accurate).

Exactly, there are actually 4 different possible permutations:

  • low lamp - filter off
  • low lamp - filter on
  • high lamp - filter off
  • high lamp - filter on

Of course in case of RS1000/NX5 there is no color filter and only lamp matters.

Before doing autocal, wanted to get my contrast and brightness in order. I have some white and black hdr clipping patterns I'm using.

I've changed these on one of my other hdr settings.  Should I use clipping patterns to tighten up brightness/contrast for frame adapt hdr, or do I leave those values at 0?

Are bright/contrast changed on fly w/frame adapt?
