JVC Autocal Software V12 calibration for 2019 RS1000/RS2000/RS3000/NX5/NX7/NX9

I use chromapure and id3pro to double check my autocal results.  I hardly ever have to make much of an adjustment in chromapure post auto cal, so not sure if Id say it makes much of a visually significant difference.

I find chromapure to be very easy to learn IMO.  It also has a very cool/easy to do auto cal process with a lumagen radiance pro if you have one.

Since I was able to get an i1 Pro 2, I don't need my i1 Pro any longer. If anyone is interested in it, let me know.

It's a great meter. I'm using the i1Pro2 for color and greyscle measurements. It's a little more difficult to use than my other meters, but it's far more accurate.

I don't use it for grayscale (it's not really that great below 30IRE), but I use it to train a C6 meter (that's much faster) and has better low light performance. The two together are great. I'd love to have a Kline or Minolta, but I don't shit gold bricks

True, the low light capabilities of this meter are a bit limited. I wish I could afford a Klein K10A. The X-Rite i1display Pro I have is better for these types of measurements. That's normally what I use for gamma calibration and I bought a Spyder 5 just to use to auto-cal my NX9.

You could use the Spyder profiles to the i1Pro 2 in Calman (I think? ).

Does anyone have the original calibration file .init for NX5 they can share? Autocal did not save my init. file after calibration. Not sure if they differ between pj's, JVC did not have an answer, but it's worth a try. 

I used I1pro 1 and I am not too impressed, I think factory looked better, despite measuring bang on.

That won't work as the init file is unique to your unit (and serial number).

It had to have saved it somewhere, either that or the calibration didn't run or save.

Actually, it will work as I’ve (accidentally) imported an init file from my original jvc nx7 to my replacement nx7 and it worked fine. 

Now, I’m not sure if an nx7 init can go into an nx5 or vice versa, but if you’re brave enough to try it I can send you mine. 🙂

Sure, you can do it if you change the serial number in the file, it doesn't mean it's a good idea.
JVC strongly advise against this, as the init file is specific to each model, and possibly to each unit.
Should you have a problem, this would probably void your warranty.
I would definitely advise against doing this.

Thanks for the replies, I think if I can get my hands on NX5 init file I would be willing to chance it. 

BTW, my initial calibration was for colour only, under User 1 and Rec709. I did not do calibrated any other profiles. 
Would that mean that my gamma settings are still factory or do they change even with colour only calibration? Also, would my HDR colour points remain original or would they be affected if I only calibrated Rec709? 

I guess I am trying to figure out what specifically was changed from factory settings when doing colour only calibration under Rec 709. It was done under individual setting and low power lamp.

It would have only changed one iris range, for all colour profiles that do not engage the P3 filter, at low lamp power.

Gamma would not have been affected, nor BT.2020 or other profiles that engage the P3 filter.

In view of the very limited scope of changes, personally I would not risk loading someone else's INIT file to undo the one change (and potentially mess up everything).

Sorry to bother but I have the RS520 and wanted to try the JVC Autocal or DisplayCal 3D Lut. From some comments I read, it seems that Manni normally was recommending the Spyder 5 at the time. Is that still recommend (or the new model X)?
I currently have the xrite i1 Display Pro which I use for my photo editing monitor.

The RS520 only works with the Spyder 5, and the i1 Pro 2.
