RS420/520/620 models – Questions asked at CES today -

1.  How much lag in gaming mode? 2 frames  ( under 40ms )

Does it work in 4k/60p. Yes.

And is the contrast compromised while using low lag mode ? No.

2.  What features are disabled in gaming mode? Nothing major other than keystone.

3.  What improvements were made for HDR. Auto HDR pre set. When HDR is detected, it will go to this pre set user mode.

4.  Was there any improvement to HDMI sync / switching  time? A small improvement – maybe 2 seconds.

5.  Confirm that auto iris is not active in HDR mode? Not active with HDR – no change.

7. It would be great to find out which meters are supported by the new autocal software.
More to follow on this.

Shipping at the end of Jan. 2017. And while the contrast and brightness spec's appear to have been improved, they are no different than the current models. The current models have been exceeding the published specifications for quite a while. You could easily get an RS600 that puts out 2000 lumens.

Thanks for getting the answers Craig, much appreciated.  Looks like my checkbook is safe from a JVC flip.

Though, a Radiance Pro is creeping up my list  ???

If you are a gamer, this is the projector to get. Not a gamer and have an RS500 / 600 already ? Put that money in a " Future JVC 4K projector " certificate of deposit.  :)

It's nice to hear that JVC didn't have to sacrifice black level or contrast performance to gain the low lag mode.

Interesting that " Dynamic Contrast " in the MPC settings is gone. And there is a new " Graphics Mode " now. Not quite sure how this works different from current JVC's.

Will be cool to see some tests of this when it arrive.
Or if its just change of name to Graphics Mode or something better.

Graphics mode appears to be a straight on or off picture adjustment, where dynamic contrast had a slider. So we will see.

Not yet, but we've preordered a load because they look awesome! :) Hope to receive handson and do some comprehensive evaluation upon our return from ISE... In the interim please don't anyone be shy sharing measurements of sales units ;)

We have a few customers that should have just received some of the new models. Waiting for some of them to respond with user impressions. :)
