It will change the gamma, but then you cannot run Autocal with Auto Iris in any case.
Ultimately I did look at a test pattern with the dynamic iris on. I noticed that it blows the bright whites out for some reason however Contrast is improved. So for me I just use manual iris with a -3 aperture. Hopefully JVC will fix the issue at some point.
How are you using first calibration with iris=0? Just curious...
I asked how are you using it, not how did you get it The question is simply this: why did you calibrate with iris=0 and low lamp? Is it too much light for SDR and not enough for 3D or HDR.
Last night I have been able to make a correction matrix for my i1D3 Vs my i1 Pro2 using my N7 and my screen, I carried on doing a few full ( gamma and colour ) basic Autocals using the i1D3 with its correction matrix, here's what I got :
You can't adequately "evaluate" the calibration based on the autocal log alone, as there's not enough "resolution". The lowest point shown is at 12.5 IRE; if there are issues they may occur at much lower levels.
I take it the Autocals are a required starting point before doing an actual calibration. So now I'm looking into the free HCFR calibration, but as a complete beginner I figure it implies a steep learning curve needing time to grasp it and I have so little effective time .....
