Oh, go ahead, as if it isn't hard enough holding out til next year's new pjs  :)

Maybe once the oppo 203 is released might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back!

I know. I have owned a 4K (VW665) or E-shift projector (RS600) for nearly 3 years and I still do not have a 4K source. Been killing me waiting for the Oppo.

How is 3d performance? Is the ghosting eliminated?

Better stock up on 4K Blu Rays during Black friday week, so you are ready when it does come out !

JVC has very good 3D performance now. I know of a few guys that have kicked their DLP's to the curb, choosing the JVC over DLP for 3D. Ghosting is no longer an issue and the JVC's are brighter than most of the DLP's.

That's great to hear. I love my RS45 but I love 3d and its 3d performance is bad enough I never use it. I knew that going in to it but I'd like my next projector to have great 3d performance.

I have a customer / friend that liked the 3D performance on the RS500 enough to replace his RS4910 with one.

Since the current pj locks up the iris to full open when receiving an HDR signal and raising the black level, is this something that anyone expects to be corrected in next years successor to the RS600?  Or will projectors just not be able to really do HDR without losing other relevant attributes?

Good question, for which I don't have an answer. Other than the HD Fury Integral

I do not expect to get the dynamic iris to work for HDR, with exception of fades to black.

As the projector warms up, so do the liquid crystals in the LCoS panels. The warmer they are the faster the response time they give and as such you see less ghosting.
