SadieMax theater 2.0
« on: August 30, 2020, 02:13:10 PM »
Hey guys...ive been mia lately...but figured what better way to come back to start my rebuild thread....

Welp 2020 struck and we had an accident with our washing machine which in turn flooded our basement and ruined my theater. :(......silver lining...i now have sinced demo'd it and it will now be the playroom. and with that, a relocation of my theater and a BIGGER theater woooo...my OG theater was small...10'x16' which included a false AT screen wall...

new theater space is 17'x13' so much needed breathing room

so anyhow...the old room being demo'fd and drywalled....the new area is cleared....and ready to roll....wood and drywall being delivered tuesday...IM sure ill be bouncing ideas off everyone here...and posting progress pics

stay tuned...

Finished product :)

Few things to button up. Like paint the trim on the door black. And finish the paint/grills for the atmos speakers

Makes sense - you need 17' for the projector and throw.

Yeah with the rs600 13’ (assuming baffle wall and size of the PJ so from lense to screen) will get me 2.4:1 120” or so

13' x 17' is a nice size. How many seats are you planning for?

Just the 3 that was in the old theater. In the 5 years I had it. We had 4 people in it. (2 of which was our kids) maybe 5 times lol.

gonna be a nice little upgrade in size from the small 10x16 I had

wood was supposed to be delivered today to start framing. But somehow the system cancelled my order. >:(  So I reordered. And it’s supposed to come tomorrow. We will see lol

13' x 17' for 3 people gives you nice spacing for the speakers and allows you nice size on the screen. And with the odd number of seats, a money seat. :)

It was the thing I really disliked about my first theater. Too narrow. That and I didn’t like the door in the back. Now it will be on the side wall just in front of the screen

I plan on placing all the surround speakers in columns. And building a mini riser for the seating

wood is coming today. So should be able to bang out most/all of the shell framing :)

With only one row of seating, why do you need a riser ?
