Mahomes & Reid plus a very good D with Steve Spagnuolo calling plays on D have me thinking KC has an edge where it matters most and wins a close game. Just hoping for a great game, though I’d like to hear David yelling from the opposite coast.

Chiefs defense is very good, but they have yet to face an offense with this much firepower. If you follow football, this is the 4th best offense the NFL has seen in the past 40+ years. They can put up points fast and with 2 weeks to prepare, I think they'll be in good shape against whatever KC throws their way. Plus, Spags likes to blitz and Purdy has the highest passer rating against the blitz in the NFL this year. One other thing...when Deebo, CMC, Williams and Purdy are all on the field together, they are 15-1. Also, when scoring 21 points or more, Purdy is undefeated in his career. And yes, you'll be able to hear me from anywhere in the world

Congrats to the Chiefs and their fans. 49ers didn't capitalize when they had their chances in the first half and the muffed punt was the turning point of the game. Set the defense up for failure on a short field. 

I feel horrible for Dre Greenlaw tearing his Achilles...he's such an inspirational player for the defense and losing his speed allowed Kelce to thrive (he had 1 catch for 1 yard up until that point in the game). 

Shanahan made some bonehead decisions in the second half. First three possessions, 8 passes and 1 run--that's coaching malpractice as far as I'm concerned. Not controlling the ball ended up wearing out the defense. As soon as he started running the ball again, they magically started to put drives together and points on the board. 

Also, not running the ball with 2 minutes left in the game (or throwing a screen pass) when KC was showing blitz was just horrible play calling. It's 3rd and 5 and you run it there and pick up 3 yards, you can go for it on 4th down and ensure that Mahomes never gets to touch the ball again. I'm sure he's going to have more Super Bowl nightmares with the way he called the second half.

Mahomes may end up going down in history as the best QB of all time. You can't allow him to beat you and unfortunately, the 49ers played right into his hands. I'm so depressed today

The Feb. 11 Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers brought in an average of 123.4 million viewers — the highest number of people watching the same broadcast in the history of television.

112 million of those viewers were tuned into the CBS broadcast — the largest audience ever for a single network. The rest were measured across Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports and NFL digital properties including NFL+. Per Paramount Global, Paramount+ saw record-breaking viewership that made Sunday the most-streamed Super Bowl ever, but exact data regarding streaming views isn’t available.

I watched the game late and in a slightly less than 100% frame of mind as I got to experience the joy of having a sudden range of symptoms late Sunday afternoon from what turned out to be a kidney stone. Fine now & thankfully passed it Monday night but that little sucker was agonizing for a while until I got serious meds. 

The game was kind of sloppy for a while with TOs and the defenses were outplaying the offenses, which I don't mind seeing. Weird stuff happened a bit more for SF, the Greenlaw injury was just as bizarre an injury as I can recall. KC just seemed a bit more ready to take advantage of opportunities and obviously Mahomes is a big part of that. Comments from players about the OT made it clear that KC was much more prepared situationally by Reid. I don't fault Shanahan though for the decision he made given his D was drained and had a fair bit of success earlier. Resting them to start could have worked if they had been able to punch in a TD on the first OT drive.

This was supposed to be the year where KC would take a step back and others would have a better shot, so it's looking like it'll be tough to keep Mahomes from following his path to match or exceed Brady. 

Also, re: Kelce and Reid. The comments about that are a bit overblown. Intense competition at the highest level brings that out sometimes and Reid noted afterwards that he appreciates Kelce's desire. If you watch a lot of football you will see those flare ups happen.

Ha, I skipped the commercials & halftime completely due to late watch time. (VERY thankful I added extra time to my recording!) But I did go back and view the Dunkin Donuts one, that was a fun one. Affleck & Damon ride again.
