Replacement for the RS4500, or augmenting the lineup?
Who knows - the RS4500 might stay. It has a different light path and certainly an industrial build quality. We certainly have a lot more questions that will only be answered at Cedia - which is one month away.
Here is my guess on what is going to happen with JVC.Laser Projector based off of the RS3000 25k MSRP
RS4500 is now $25K right? Hmmm... laser version of RS3000 at $25K but RS4500 stays seems like a paradox, lol. Can't wait to see what happens though!
Nobody but JVC knows actual pricing - and they aren't talking - for another 4 weeks.
Right - I was just saying the speculation from you & Mike couldn't both be right. Y'all need to coordinate your wild speculation a bit better! Seriously though, I hope the $25k price for the RS4500 kind of sets the high mark for what we'd potentially see from a "laser RS3000". I know the JVC laser is better and the DILA design in some way isn't as easy to do as DLP but an extra $6-7K upcharge for laser illumination is a lot higher than on the DLP side.
DLP of course is missing 3 chips, motorized lens functions and lens memory, contrast and black levels etc. What if a new laser RS3000 is 2200 lumens and the RS4500 is still 3000 lumens and they both stay in the line at the same price? We are going to have to wait 4 weeks to know.
