Indeed I will be. I'll be attending CEDIA 4th - 10th September, so if you fancy meeting up for a coffee let me know ;)

Maybe it is 2200 to leave room for whatever replaces the VW-5000.  I can't imagine they will let their top end projector sit there for too long with the lower end projectors having some fancier features such as multiple iris.

Sounds good. I am kaotikr1 on the other forum, I know you and I have interacted a few times over there. Quite a bit of dram on the other forum in regards to a few posters and the 885ES.

Looking at the 570 pdf from Mike (thanks for posting those!) I'm curious about what the 570 has over the 385 to be 25% higher price. Or is it closer to a replacement for the 675?

Ah right. Yes we have indeed conversed a few times over there. Send me a PM with your contact details. Looking forward to meeting you at CEDIA :)

18Gbps HDMI
MotionFlow with 4K content
More lumens

Or you could say the 570 is a 675 with 18Gbps and 4K motioflow, at a reduced price.

To clarify, the 570ES is the European & Australian model number. The US & Canada model number is 695ES. The 570/695ES will be replacing the 550/675ES.

The 360/385ES is being discontinued in Europe, so I expect it will be elsewhere as well.

So SONY's product range of home theater/cinema projectors for 2019 will be as per follows:

• 270/295ES
• 570/695ES
• 760/885ES
• 870/995ES
• 5000ES

Prices are yet to be definitively confirmed.

I wonder what the U.S. model numbers will be?  Will there be a Reference Series?  I see the N7 doesn't have THX cert. if that is to be the replacement of the RS-5xx/6xx projectors.  Only the N9 is THX cert.  What does the THX cert. really bring to the table anyway?

Very exciting times ahead. I think JVC made the right call to do lamp based units first. They will sell a lot more units at first with the lower MSRPs. I'm also happy to see JVC keep 3D support with this projectors. I have a feeling the N5 is in my future unless pricing is lower than what I'm expecting it to be.

I'm not sure THX certification or lack of it would be a deal breaker one way or the other. As for US model numbers, one more week until Cedia !
