Simple ethernet cable is all you'll need for this.

Good luck!

I would tend to think that would be the case, but as a non-Mac person, I don't know what options you might have.

I think you do need a PC. I'm not a Mac person either.

What size / type screen do you have? High or low lamp ? I rarely saw the iris working on my RS600. I used -8 manual iris and auto 2.
I use a Stewart Tek 130 G3 130" screen. I use the low setting on the lamp and -4 on manual iris, using Auto 2. The 'pumping" is still quite noticeable on dark scenes with a face highlighted in foreground. Maybe I'll just have to live with the lower "darker" picture at -8.

If the iris bothers you, then I would turn it off, before choosing to drop brightness that much.

If we're talking Arve's tool, I think a Mac should work fine.  It's just python, and python runs on just about anything.

question

does FOCUS shift after a while...especially after using zoom for 2.35 with 2 presets?

should i periodically refocus using no e-shift for each setting?

I haven't found the need to refocus over the almost one year I've been using mine.  Zoom gets employed regularly, and focus still seems crisp.

I never found the need. That said, it doesn't hurt to run a focus / sharpness test pattern and check it every now and then - if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease.
