Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord (Disney+)

The Star Wars franchise has been very hit or miss on its spinoffs. This show takes place about a year after The Clone Wars (which I never finished) and continues the story arch of Darth Maul. Two episodes are available on Disney+ and we watched the first last night. It's a mobster-like story within the Star Wars universe and the first episode has us looking forward to watching the second one tonight. The voice talent is pretty good and the animation is excellent and very detailed. 

Has anyone else started watching the show?

I'll wait until the whole thing is done (we currently have a free Disney+ subscription).

The story is said to be at least partially inspired by what Lucas had originally planned for Episodes VII -IX.

I hadn't heard that--thanks for sharing. We ended up not watching the second episode tonight...I forgot that Scrubs was on (and it was an outstanding episode). Off topic, but the Scrubs reboot has been very entertaining as well.

I'm in that same camp.  I've spent thousands, if not well over ten, on Star Wars stuff over the years.  I can't recall the last thing I've purchased.  

The last ten years have had some highlights, but much more disappointment.  I don't think Disney truly understood what they were buying and who the audience was.

I'm not as bad. I did LOVE Andor, which is arguably the best Star Wars since the original trilogy. Rebels was pretty good too. The Mandalorian started out OK, but went downhill. The Book of Boba Fett was pretty bad, Asoka was not great, Obi-Wan was watchable, but forgettable. Clone Wars was at least innovative. The last three movies were in between Meh and bad. I'm curious to see how Mando & Grogu does at the theater.

I don’t understand why they went with the want to be funny stuff. It has some indirect humor but never a straight up comedy character which seems to be the standard now.

Watched episode 2 of the series. Very intriguing and we will definitely be watching #3 next week.
