The End of Disney Movie Rewards

Not sure if this is exactly the right thread since it cuts across multiple areas.

For any Disney Movie Rewards members, the program is ending this year.  Just got this email today:

Appreciate the heads up, Scott. I haven't used it much but did get a couple of things so I'll have to go check my account.

Sad to see it go as well. About 12 years ago we cashed in over 12,000 points and did a behind the scenes tour of Disney Studios in California with my wife and kids. It was a blast!

I still have well over 10,000 points, so I'll have to see what I can get for them. This is the final studi to shit down their rewards...Sony amd Universal shut down this year as well. :(

You may want to clean up that language before the mods catch you!  ;)

Well along the "Freudian slip" lines... I just checked in on my account. Points history shows I had 1500+... that expired in May. DOH. But I hadn't entered movie codes in a long time and found 2200 worth, which gets me into at least the free movie tier. But there's not a single one that I'm remotely interested in and don't have. Only 3 in 4K anyway, I have 2 and the other one is the final Star Wars movie that I have zero interest in seeing. So it's either a 2nd copy of a good movie or a copy of a bad movie. Snit!

I'm in the same boat but have less than 1000 points.  They do say that they'll be adding more items to the redemption list, but who knows if that will include different movies.

Best to keep checking.  Maybe something good will pop up.

I have 18,000 points and there's nothing I want from there....as in absolutely nothing. Ugh.

David, I don't feel as bad now! (Not that I actually felt too bad about missing out on a single movie.)

But... are you absolutely, postively, 100% SURE you don't want the Belle & Beast Light Up Figurine for 14500 points? Hey, you might have a granddaughter, grandniece or friend's college roommate's ex-girlfriend who is a psycho fan of Beauty & The Beast and save his life with that. You just never know.

Seriously though - it looks like they've pared down the inventory of rewards to mostly the dregs. I am skeptical that it will improve, given the sunset coming soon.

Edit: Given what I just wrote, I decided to go ahead and order Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 4K. Who knows, I have nieces & nephews who might want to see it.

So I've been checking the site periodically and discovered that they are adding new items to redeem and finally found something my wife would like for 12,500 points:

Fan Favorites -

Jack and Sally Nightmare Before Christmas Statue

While it was a lot of points, it does include shipping and I'd rather get this than let the points go to waste. Once it arrives, I'll let everyone know if it's decent quality or not.

Glad you found something, David, and I was wrong about them being unlikely to add anything else as the sun sets on the program.

Just a bump for anyone that still might have some points hanging out there, the last day/time to redeem for rewards will be Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at 11:59 pm PT.

I had just under 1000 points left, so there weren't many options, so I picked up the Blu-ray copy of the animated Mulan for 800, and I think it was the last one available.

There is a chance they could add stuff during the last few days, but don't count on it.

I had 4220 points...just redeemed for 4 movies that I don't really want, but the price was right :)

Glad you were able to find something.  The list looks even smaller now than the last time I checked.

Maybe they could be used as Christmas gifts?  It is that time of the season.
