As time goes on, I am becoming much less of a collector of movie titles. Unless it's something truly amazing, I rent and return.

If we're heading to streaming only, I'll have a lot more time to do what interests me the most.

If it's not amazing, I don't really want to invest the time to watch it to begin with.

Netflix isn't the only one releasing movies that probably aren't getting much physical media releases. Apple and Amazon obviously have been doing that for a while too. Not really sure what the numbers are, though.

Nice! I let myself get sucked back into that in the last few years. I'm actually just about 80% of the way through cataloging (via Discogs) my old LP collection acquired from about 1976-1986, ~230 titles. (My CD habit overlapped a bit, starting in 1984 before I even actually bought a player and is about 15x as many, so I won't be entering that on Discogs.  )

Going to Audio Advice Live here in Raleigh this weekend, looking forward to seeing Michael Fremer and some of the other vinyl stuff there.

Nice! I let myself get sucked back into that in the last few years. As I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it occurred to me that Disney is already missing some opportunities to package physical media.

With all of the Marvel TV shows that tied directly to the movies, and just how expensive the shows are to produce, you'd think they would want to recoup some of that money.  This is also true of the Star Wars TV shows.  I'm guessing they could have made a bundle with packaging on The Mandalorian.

That could all change based on the success or failure of Disney+.  Maybe someone will ask the question during tomorrow's investor.

They are desperate for any type of revenue. Collectors will eat these up.

It's just the end for Australia. They never said they were stopping disc sales in the rest of the world.

I believe this is the second market where they have stopped (I think they stopped in Central or South America) at some point in the past as well.

Yes, that's correct.  As detailed in this article from Forbes, they've pulled out of Latin America and some Asian markets.

It's encouraging that we're seeing new releases of Disney+ shows now.  Perhaps they've had a change of heart and realized that they've been missing out on untapped sales.  At least in this country.  For now.

Well now I almost feel an obligation to buy one of the Disney+ series. 

While I enjoyed those 3, not really that interested in buying them.

Depends on the show. I bought Battlestar Galactica, Rome, Homeland, Chernobyl and the first 4 seasons of The Expanse. And Station Eleven, which we are currently watching.
