Does Epson not usually participate in CEDIA? Just seems like odd timing that they'd have something new and exciting like that and not have made even a virtual splash with it at CEDIA.But of course this is exciting news and looking forward to see how these compare to the JVCs.Edit: I looked on the other forum and saw someone posted that Epson will announce new HT projectors on Sep 29-30.
CEDIA has been moving from being a big home theater and home audio show to more along the lines of anything related to home automation and Internet-connected devices.Less cool HT stuff; more connected gadgets to spy on you.
Don't see anything yet from Epson USA newsroom, but What HiFi has a news release up. 3LCD, not reflective LCD, so obviously won't be state of the art black level & contrast, but looks like much more affordable pricing than JVC at least:https://www.whathifi.com/news/epson-eh-ls12000b-4k-projector-brings-big-screen-hdmi-21-gaming
There is a question on whether Epson will bring these out in the US this year, due to supply shortages.
I wish there were more reasonably priced projectors that used a laser light source.
Uh oh Craig... Seriously, I ranted a bit about that in the JVC new laser 4K announcement. I don't get why the price delta to add laser to LCOS is WAY higher than for DLP/LCD.
