New Epson 4K Laser Projectors Coming?

Do you want much higher native contrast and state of the art dynamic tone mapping for HDR? Do you want multiple lens memories and other advanced settings? Do you want native 4K resolution and 4096 x 2160 for use with a DCR lens and scope screen? It's not just laser you pay for with a JVC.
But those things are already present in the lamp based models, it's not an extra added along with the laser light source. I get that the JVC is worth more and as such costs more - the starting point is higher than the Espon starting point. My only question is about the one change on the light source which incurs a bigger upcharge for JVC OR Sony, than any other projectors. I feel like that point keeps getting obfuscated with other things.

Clearly JVC lowered that premium with the new models so it's progress, at least.

The didn't just add laser though. They improved the optical path, added 4X 8K eshift, add ed improved DTM, better / cooler running laser diodes, made the projector quieter etc.
Why is this Porsche more than this Kia?

Ok, fair enough Craig.

Back to Epson... did anyone get any more details on the LS11000 & LS12000? I'm inferring from this phrase in the Europe PR:

Quote
At the core of these devices is an all-new 4K image processing chip

that it's almost certainly not a native 4K chip. "4K image processing" sounds like the kind of euphemistic language companies have been using for pixel shifting products.

What Hifi says they got confirmation from Epson that the panels are not native 4K.
