Def no diminishing returns with the lumagen. It’s a big upgrade

I don't disagree that it's an upgrade, but there's also a very steep price for that upgrade. The JVC DTM is very good on 95% of material. Yes, the occasional disc will trip it up where the Lumagen/Envy will look better, but you pay a lot for that 5%. I realize there are more benefits as well (auto aspect detection, etc.), but at this time it's out of my personal price range. I spent funs on the Trinnov and decided to put a golf simulator in my garage.

I totally agree about the streaming app support not being a real issue. Though I understand that done may want a more all in one solution. I have a Chromecast 4K and it's an amazing streaming device and it's very cheap for what it is.

I didn't see whether this player has a source direct feature like the Oppo ( and the Zappiti media players ) for use with a Lumagen. Does it?

The user manual documents a Source Direct mode under the Resolution setting.

Source Direct - The output resolution is the original resolution of the source content.
