DIY calibration using a VP

I am looking into calibrating my lumagen/rs600 combo.  I would rather invest in the equipment rather than pay about the same fee for a 1 and done pro calibraton  this way I can calibrate once a year or so

anyone done this?  what meter? what software?  easy?
