With only one row of seating, why do you need a riser ?

A mini riser. Like 4” to get the suspended floor tactile feel

anyhow got 3/4 walls framed today along with the over the screen soffit

But any I put on drop ceilings? Are they bad for sound. I know they make absorbing panels but for me
Are cost prohibitive. Original plan is to drywall the ceiling. But exploring options.

You can get a lot of noise from a drop ceiling if you have a lot of subs. If a lot of subs, glue and screw the drywall. Heck, I screwed all the framing together.

So for simplicity sake I decided to make the knee wall a full wall and finished the back wall and soffit around the hvac made three trips to Hd cause I ran out of wood twice. And nails for the framing gun

If you are trying to sound isolate, then after. If you are not doing resilient channel, drywall, green glue and more drywall, then I don't think it matters a whole lot. You are moving right along.

Thank you. Yeah it feels way faster than the first build. 

got the rough 20a circuit in for the amps And the 15a for the lights.

Both dedicated to the theater

also got all but the subs and left rear atmos speaker wire in. Of course i ran out lol. 

actually ran out of 14ga romex too. Uggg

Anyway here are the pics. Kinda boring.

Only a little done today.  Waiting on more speaker wire. 
Threw up some drywall on the outside back wall of the theater. So finally have a feeling of what the screen wall will look like from the seats 
Was able to make a quick trip to grab can lights, some 2x3’s to frame in the electrical panel, and start grabbing Insulation 

Well half way to the orange store. I realized I took my bmw sedan. And not the wife’s Volvo suv. Lol. No wood or insulation for me today 

So got the 4 can lights installed and wired. Success my first HT dedicated circuit works!!

No the cans are new construction cans you nail to the joists. The bulbs are just hanging there for light. You take those out. Then put up the drywall and cutout the lights circles

No joke. I was a commercial general contractor for over 20 years. You hang the ceiling first. That is standard practice. You cut the holes for the lights and after hanging a few sheets, can wire temporary lights hanging from the openings in the drywall or you can have work lights below. Doing the ceiling first means the walls can help support the edges of the drywall.

inside the theater the ceiling will 100% be hung first with drywall. The cans are installed ready for drywall to be placed over them

In the debate mode weather I should recess the surrounds and ceiling volt 6’s into the walls/ceiling as much as I can and make fabric panels to hide them. Also debating columns on the sides and rears. 

Or just surface mount everything.
