Copied from another forum -

Below info is qouted from a reliable source

Zappiti support will continue until approximately the first of this year and most likely beyond that if the funds are there. If support ends, the codes for administrative access will be sent to owners. (allows us admin access to the NAS)

Warranty service will be performed by Let's get Physical as per the warranty, parts covered, labor and shipping charged. Out of warranty at going parts/labor charges.

The new proposed, by subscription, app will be a direct replacement for the current Zappiti Video app and it will become the default app when "Video" is selected on the player. The new app will require new identification of the titles on the NAS and all custom data added will not be carried over. The title info will default to that within the TMDB database.

The ripping software, MKV or AnyDVD has a lifetime license and will continue to be updated.

Worst case scenario, all titles on the NAS can be directly played via the explorer option or on a PC via VLC Media Player.

------------------------

I will also add that for us Zappiti NAS owners our database is not stored in the cloud since we have a Zappiti Nas so even if the cloud goes down we should still have all the content identification info as it is stored locally on the NAS.

Also ( tips ) -

As luck would have it though, when I tried to play them through Explorer, I got the old "Making Playlist/Playlist Empty" problem that they had previously eradicated from my system with a couple of download tweaks. When I reported this problem, he said that I needed to change a setting on my Reference player, and emailed me a photo of the following screen: Home>Setup>Miscellaneous>File Browser. The setting that needed to be changed was the second one from the top: ""OK" Button on file". It needed to be changed from "Generate Playlist" to "Play single file". I did change that setting (and the one right under it: ""Play" button on file"), but by then I had already deleted the two .mkv files, as I was still ripping in other movies and didn't want the system to identify those two versions of movies that were already established on the system while Identifying the new content that I was introducing. Changing those two settings to "Play single file" has not had any effect on anything else so far, that I can tell.

My point in all this, aside from possibly helping anyone else who may be having the same issue, is that Zappiti Software Support is, at least for the time being, still alive and well and doing their best for us under what must be really tough circumstances for them.

The new R_volution computer app is available ( came out last week while I was skiing ) -

R_volution | R_video for PC and Mac (rvolution.com)

You'll need to download new firmware to your player. It took me at least 5 tries to get it to finally download, so if at first you don't succeed, try, try again!

You can edit movies again on your computer. I'm sure improved versions will be forthcoming.
