He's been asked many times for this information. I doubt he's going to provide any objective data to back up his claims after reading his last remarks where apparently Dave will need to do some type of Mission Impossible break-in to get the supposed data he has:

That doesnt even make sense to me either, the data should be on whatever computer calman was installed on, which I would gather is his laptop...

I think that was the best excuse ive seen yet.

Wouldn't it be easier to just give updated calibration readings? If he has the projectors, his meters and calibration software it should only take a little bit to just do the measurements and show the results. Or like Javs said, just go into CalMan and recall the session.

" Dave will need to do some type of Mission Impossible break-in to get the supposed data he has " - you nearly sent coffee through my nose ! ::)

I had a pretty good chuckle to myself as I typed that out. ;D

.....A little sneaky stab, it reminded me of the LK990 vs my JVCs contrast looked in my room.......

Yeah what a shame you just aren’t capable of setting it up properly to get the best performance.  Maybe you’ll get there someday.

Javs, which model were you referring to?

Edit: nevermind, I found it.

Actually it’s been quite refreshing not having to deal with all the arrogant narcissists. Thanks for asking!

I do get a few good laughs at all the ignorance and bias that now goes unchecked though!

I never understood the reason to make this projector into something that it wasn't. I mean, eventually the cat was going to get out of the bag. The deficiencies should have been embraced from the get-go and there wouldn't have ever been a controversy surrounding this projector.

The argument could have been "sure it doesn't have great contrast, but if you're willing to live with that, you're going to be rewarded with an impressively sharp and bright projector that has a lot of pop". Instead we got this argument but will the added photos that made it seem as if this projector could go toe to toe with a Sony or JVC projector when content got dark.

So ONE post to an old cohort and that’s “peddling” now?  What exactly is it that I’m “peddling” anyway?  Do I somehow make money on this?

No magic potions here. You “pros” are the ones that concocted all that BS. It all only comes from many years of experience and knowledge meeting experimentation and thinking out of the box, which apparently nobody here or there is capable of.

Please show me ONE instance that I said it could go “toe to toe” with a JVC or Sony with native contrast?

All I ever said was exactly what you wrote and that the blacks and contrast weren’t as bad as it was made out to be by the biased crowd. There are MANY who also agree with me.

Are you going to actually contribute anything useful to this forum, or are you going to use it as a platform to winge and moan just like the last forum?

I said it was the photos you posted.

Unfortunately for you, others who have a lot of experience with projectors have seen this projector and don't agree. 1000:1 native contrast has an obvious weakness. You should have embraced it from the start instead of embellishing the truth.

Dave, everyone that compared the two side by side all had the same thing to say about the contrast on the LK. We are talking Woofer, Markmon1, Kris, Javs, Dylan and Dylan's friend. That is six people all saying the same thing and none of them trashed the LK. All of them had good things to say about it, other than it's weakness of contrast.

I should send you the emails from Jav's, early on regarding his hopes for the LK. Based on all the hype you gave the LK, he was all ready to buy one. Was talking about how he could give up some contrast if the LK still did okay. Jav's was seriously looking for a projector to light up a large low gain screen. So Jav's did not go into this wanting the LK to fail. Jav's was excited about the LK. So rather than say everyone portrayed the LK incorrectly, maybe you should compare the two side by side, but you need to do so in a black pit of a room, because all the people I listed that did the comparison, used black pit rooms.
