My CEDIA previews start to land this week, with Lumagen right out of the gate. Jim and I spent nearly an hour discussing the event, the partners, Artisan, the future of Radiance Pro, and he even made my eyes gloss over a bit on linear power supplies.

That is exciting!

I've been toying with the idea of adding a Lumagen to my system, hoping that there is a flood of well-cared for 4200 series models hitting the used market or some nice B stock units once the ArtisaN comes out.
My Room:  26’-1” X 17’-4” X 10’
Equipment:  Monolith HTP-1 feeding X7 and X9 amps, JVC RS3100, Elite Screens 135"", JBL Studio 590 for L, C, R, W, R, 580s for sides and four SCS8 for tops, JTR Captivator 1400 x 4, Panny DP-UB420K, Toshiba HD-A35. Nvidia Shield, Sonos Connect, MX-780 remote

I’m just hoping they continue to update the 4200 as they have. It makes the price of entry less daunting knowing it won’t be obsolete for a long time.

Yes, that is definitely part of their value proposition.

Good to hear.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up when people start dumping their old models for the new 8K version.

Mine works so well now, if they never updated it again, I wouldn't care. In fact, the latest update doesn't appear to do anything for my system.

Beta 120325  Fixed an issue with 4k 50/60Hz HDR output modes that could give small little double pixels on sharp edges like text.

Now this is cool. Might be worth the $500

We are excited to announce that we have Alpha release prototypes for the new external IP interface for the Radiance Pro series of video processors. These are working well, and we plan a few refinements. The LAN2RS232 will connect to the RS232 port on the Radiance Pro and provide direct control to, and status from, the Radiance Pro series of video processors. This interface will be internal in all ArtisaN units.

The LAN2RS232 acts as a webpage server and can directly connect to with a PC or tablet device using an IP address. If you have local or remote access to a site intranet, you can connect to the LAN2RS232 directly. In addition, it already works with the River Controls' Crestron driver, and we are working to get it added to the Control4 driver on drivercentral.io.

I have attached a picture of the LAN2RS232 web server user interface. The LAN2RS232 uses a wired POE LAN interface for power.

Initially you will be able to control the Radiance Pro and see video status. We plan to add a second setup page, and then later add the ability to upload Radiance Pro firmware.

The LAN2RS232 module will be priced in the USA at $495 USD retail.

We are taking Beta release orders and expect to ship within two weeks at the Beta level. If you are interested in helping us with Beta testing, please contact me by email at sales@lumagen.com. Once we have feedback we expect to take production orders.

Curious about the remote access unit. Not sure it’s worth $500
