So Craig, Hacksaw is that good?  I mean from a PQ and SQ standpoint...I bought it, but it is still in my stash, waiting for my room construction to be finished.  I have several movies that, over the last several months, I've "saved myself" (and eyes and ears) for the new theater room...I just got the X770RB in on Monday, Denon 4300 about a week before, and the Oppo 203 when it came out...It's all staying put for now....Can't wait...can't wait!  I should be settling in with everything next weekend....

I think it's one of the better 4K movies I've got. Picture detail is excellent. Very clean transfer too. Sound track that is really well mixed - LFE shakes the room during explosions ( my guest last night made particular mention of that ). Overall, it's hard to beat. And the true story is amazing. The battle scenes are graphic though - " parental guidance suggested ".

Watched " Patriot's Day " on 4K tonight. Powerful film. Extremely well done. My guests and I were pretty much on the edge of our seat the entire movie. i thought it was respectful of the victims and the entire event.

I agree 100%, this was powerful and it was very well done.

I'm a parent, and I can't wait to guide myself to see this movie!  Lol...looking forward to it.

Watched a movie I hadn't seen for a while last night, with friends that had never seen it - Apocalypto ! Looked amazing on my RS4500 ! I just noticed that this Blu-ray is out of print, and selling for $ 124.34 on Amazon. If I told my wife that, she'd say " sell it ". I'm keeping it though !  :)

Watched La La Land - great movie ! I loved how it was shot on film, in 2.55:1 Cinemascope, and had elements of older classic films, and nods to the modern era in there too. Nicely done !

...it's strange that I'm physiologically strained in watching blue ray when I want those that I already have to be issued in 4K!...the list of 4K releases aren't flowing, but...I need to change my attitude re: my blue ray collection (as well as regular DVDs) and start enjoying them again...

I don't watch any DVD's anymore ( except Team America - World Police ). But quite a few great movies are only on Blu-ray, and not 4K yet. " Fury " and many recent releases look outstanding on Blu-ray. Plus, I'm going to have a few themed " movie weeks " coming up, and those movies are only on Blu-ray right now too.

...just a note: it's not as if I don't watch DVDs and blu-ray.  I have the JVC projector which has the e-shift capability and
certainly helps in viewing...

...late note: I just watched the blue ray disc of Captain American The First Avenger and...it looked sensational...I suppose it must be due to the JVC projector's e-shift and the OPPO 205's wanting to play everything at 4k (DVDs, blu-rays)...so, even with this crazy player/projector combination doing their own thing and even if it wasn't really true 4K, it looked wonderful (not to mention that film itself is outstanding)...

Emphasis on the bold.  If the studios want my money, they will need to release more 4K titles.  Meanwhile, I have many BR/DVDs in-house that I should watch again.

Since May is " Mental Health Awareness Month ", we watched " Fight Club " tonight. I forgot how off the wall that movie is! The Blu Ray looked amazing for a film from 1999 !
