Watched inferno 4K last night. Wow. Reference picture! Top 5 materialAnd the Atmos was outstanding with HUGE DEEP BASS
We have finally stepped up and started watching Game of Thrones -- Atmos version! Awesome soundtrack! We ended up doing 5 episodes. Will soon have to get the second season (that was an outright requiement from LOML after getting started).I read the books about 10 years ago, so I need to start over. And at that time Martin had not yet written the last book. These are the kinds of things that make life worth living...
Did a lot of searching for Game of Thrones options. Amazon offerings are somewhat confusing and mostly high priced. I found an Atmos set (Seasons 1-6) on eBay for $73 including shipping -- highly rated seller. Should have it within the week and will update here. eBay is not my favorite marketplace though I have been able to successfully get a number of deals. Always lurking in my mind is whether I'm being scammed. But that's what credit cards are for... Anyway, as said, I'll update -- delivery expected NLT early next week.
Watched the UHD disc Jack Reacher: Never Go Back on my Oppo 203 and JVC RS500.I found the picture to be rather dark in HDR. I switched to BT.2020 SDR instead.I thought the picture quality was average, but barely even noticed the Atmos soundtrack.I am glad I rented it instead of purchase. A one time viewing was sufficient and I won't be adding this one to my collection.
I did like the first one quite a bit. Too bad this one wasn't as good.
watched trolls 4k. I saw this in the theater with my son (first theater movie in a looong time). looked and sounded 100x better at home.the music and sound overall are outstanding in this....and the colors are so vibrant...great demo material
"looked and sounded 100x better at home"This is why my wife and I seldom ever go to a theater anymore -- the audio has been better at home for many years. Now with the new B6 (while not projection size), the much larger picture and amazing image AND the Atmos/DTS:X sound just make theaters mostly a disappointment. Even my grandsons now think our LR is better. Fortunately, at 12 and14 they're into a somewhat higher level movie. (And their Mom is a real stickler for age appropriate -- that would be my daughter.) <pride and love all over!>Still working through Game of Thrones -- mid-Season 3.
