I forgot all about YouTube having 4K videos. I will have to try that out since I have no 4k player to play my one 4k movie. Does anyone know if there is a ripper for ripping 4K movies to your NAS for playback?

What 4K display do you have ?

We have a Samsung FP in our living room... I need to check the model number (we got it about a year ago at Costco).

...adding to my last post...DISH NETWORK told me that, although customers can select and view YOUTUBE programming, we cannot view those 4K shows as yet...the standard line was that they do not want to guess when it will occur...

You have the Hopper, or the 4K Hopper ? They aren't the same, and you won't be watch 4K Netflix on the regular Hopper.

...well...as it turns out...the whole problem of 4K NetFlix reception boils down to my Time Warner Cable modem...for only $199.99 I can have a technician come out to increase the speed that I should have had all along when I first changed from AT&T to the cable company...I agreed to it and the technician will come tomorrow to do what's necessary to resolve this nightmare!...I, hopefully, will do a new entry in this miserable story after he leaves to say "Yay", it's all over...to be continued...

Glad to hear you found an answer. I knew it was not the projector. I would have thought the guy that connected up the set top box would have verified the speed of your service, to make sure everything was working properly.

WOW, I can't believe that you have to pay for them to come out and fix a problem that is theirs. When we upgraded from 100Mbps to 250Mbps, and I did the install...our Cable Co. came out 2 times to get it fixed free of charge.

...well...what can I say...that's show business! (maybe I can find an illegal way of writing it off as a tax deduction!)

I would complain to their Supervisor, and tell them you are going to post poor reviews about them. Yelp, and Facebook is what I usually tell them...then they come around and help you. In my case they bent over backwards to get me good service..they even credited my account for lost service since I wasn't getting the guaranteed Mbps without complaining.

...well...Time Warner came and went...he increased the modem speed from 100 to 300...and still no NETFLIX via the DISH HOPPER receiver...I'm ready to give up and cancel NETFLIX...the weeks and weeks of calls back and forth between NETFLIX and DISH then involving TIME WARNER has gotten me no results...all afternoon I get "not enough bandwidth" messages from NETFLIX.  The TW Technician said that the speed has been increased to 300 but if I'm still not getting NETFLIX, it would be a problem to discuss with DISH and/or NETFLIX. He also added that my computer only goes to 100 but, per his statements, this has nothing to do with my problem.

I give up.  Sorry for involving all who attempted to help me on this discussion...I appreciate it very much.

...WELL...it's not over yet!...DISH has decided to replace my modem that might be the cause of all my frustration!...the replacement is scheduled for tomorrow and I will know more then...

  Go Up
