That means the Anthem is processing the signal, not passing it through. Look to see if Deep Color is turned on in the Anthem. If it is, turn it off.

That should make it easier. Apparently the Hopper is sending 8 bit, since that is what the JVC reported when connected direct to the hopper. With 4K UHD BD, fed direct to the JVC, you should get 10 bit.

...quick question...(after reconnecting the DISH with the new HDMI cable directly to the JVC) when I watch blu-ray from the Anthem Statement HDMI output, do I set the Anthem at 10 or 12bit?

10 bit. What is coming from the Direct TV looks to be 8 bit, since that is what the JVC showed, when connected directly. Setting to 12 bit, most likely is why your cable will not pass the signal. 4K UHD BD uses 10 bit, so no reason to really go above that.

Thank you, Mike..strangely enough, the 12bit setting did allow the DISH reception via the Anthem but I noticed a change in the darkness of the NETFLIX programming...I did change the Anthem to 8bit and it looked more as if I had the DISH connected directly to the JVC.  And, yes, previously,  the DISH receiver connected directly to the JVC did show 8bit reception.

...so, when watching blu-ray via the Anthem, I'll set it to 10bits.

...well I connected the new HDMI cable directly from the DISH HOPPER receiver to the JVC HDMI2 input...I finally got 4K from NetFlix but the continuing problem is that I'm able to get NetFlix but not all the time...

Update:  I can get on to NetFlix for a moment but then the screen goes blank and/or I have to reboot the DISH  HOPPER?
NetFlix will allow me on a few occasions to sign in and when I'm just about ready to select a program, the screen indicates that it not available...Is there no end to this?  I was able on two different days to watch one 4K show with the JVC showing 4K, but after shutting down the projector and later trying to get on NetFlix...it was no go...

...well...I guess I solved the NETFLIX problem maybe the hard way...I disconnected everything, all the wires, electrical etal. and reassembled my home theater system...I've been able to get NETFLIX for the past two days without any problems...and, the JVC shows 4K!...

...now I need to address the YOUTUBE problem of trying to watch 4K programs via the DISH HOPPER receiver but all I get are the shows id'd via the JVC as 1080...but, as Scarlet(sp) so famously said over the years...I'll think about it tomorrow (after all, tomorrow is another day!)...

I've only watched 4K Youtube videos briefly via my Samsung 4K UHD player. It worked, and they played, but they seem to be compressed compared to 4K UHD Blu Rays, that's for sure.

I forgot all about YouTube having 4K videos. I will have to try that out since I have no 4k player to play my one 4k movie. Does anyone know if there is a ripper for ripping 4K movies to your NAS for playback?
