Is it really necessary for the software to throw you out of the thread you just posted to after making the post?
When I reply to a post (at least with a "quote"), I always find myself dumped out of the thread and must start over. That will get pretty irritating after there are a few pages of posts. To me, it should reset me at the end of the thread or (even better) at the post I just responded to.
-
I agree! Let me work on this.

I have an answer for you, I searched through the admin settings and found little help, but then I remembered that there is a setting in your profile settings under the Look and Layout subsection that will turn that option on for you permanently... by default i think all those options are turned off, you can set any of them to suite your preference.
-
Ok, it looks like you're right. So I went to my Profile and unchecked this obscure default setting: Return to topics after posting by default.
Hopefully that will fix it for me. But why is that the default and how many people will find that "obscure" setting? I assume that the Mods can change this -- and I think it should be "fixed".
Not just complaining here -- trying to help improve.
Edit: Nope -- still bounced out of the thread.

By unchecking that option, you tell the system to bounce you back to board level, go back and put the checkmark back, if it still does the bounce there is something different causing the problem... so if that was your first excursion into that menu, it means that by default that option is checked... this could be a theme issue, you can try switching over temporarily to the curve theme and see whether it still bounces you out of the thread and let me know if it works or not

Would it be possible to alow 3000kb as the max file size for each post, also work for just 1 file, and a option displaying them full size, for better presentations of screenshots.

I like this idea too...especially when viewing HT setups.

Can you please rephrase exactly what it is you would like?

single file size alowed at 3000kb instead of 1000kb, and you can still keep the max limit pr post to 3000kb, and the option to display them full or bigger size than is now whenm looking the thread.

File size issue resolved, lowered the number of files you can attach, but your file size limit increased to 3000, Marc and I are deciding on how to best implement popups for images, we have a couple options and may implement both of them not sure yet, standby...

Shoot me a link to the particular post you are referring to... it's usually a problem with the path to where the file is stored, or is it one that you were trying to upload as an attachment? I will check the error log while I wait on your link...
-
Here is the link to the blank page showing up after clicking the post button..

Yes, that link will take you to a blank edit page that is ready to accept information, if you try to hit the post key in its current state nothing will happen and what is suppose to do is give you an error message that the title and body have no text entered... even if all you do is open the additional options link and upload an attachment, if the title and body don't have anything in it it should throw an error...
-
Ok now i got this one...
An Error Has Occurred!
The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.
Back.
Is that meaning i reached a limit to how much i can upload.?

Try it again, the system already notified me that there was a problem and it should be okay now...

Sometimes it will be really easy like this one, there may be other issues at times that aren't easy to fix and you may be waiting for a bit, depends on what the problem is... this one may cause us on the staff some issues later on but the users shouldn't get any more folder size restriction errors from here on...
-
Think i had 30 time out errors now, looks like something is down.

Are you still getting this? I didn't see this till today... if so, what browser are you using and what operating system are you on? is it mobile or not? I have noticed slow response times lately but not timeouts, this is usually caused by heavy traffic overloading the resource limits set by the server hosting company but it could be other issues as well... after i post this I will have a look in the error log too but lately that stays pretty clean...

Ok, dropping back to the original short discussion, yes, having changed that option back to the default, things now act as I expect after making a post -- I see my post added on to the thread.

It's being worked on, and should be back shortly.

I cant access my PM's help!
You don't say whether it is all pm's or just the responses you make when someone sends you one?? If you'll go to the Profile settings and double check that the settings are how you want them set under the "personal messaging" section... there is a setting to show you your sent messages, I noticed that yours is turned off.
:)

Multiple posts never popped up, awaiting moderation.. A personal or a general issue.?

It's not you, it's us. I'm aware of the problem, and I'm working on it.
Thanks for understanding!

Is there a way to post Youtube video links for something like trailers within the software? I'm just getting used to it but haven't figured out a way to do that. Thanks!

David, it could be that you haven't been given the proper permissions. If you have access to HTML tags you can use something like or <video>.............</video> where the dots are the URL of the video.
Just a guess as this forum uses different software. I hope you get it figured out.

Heck, let's try a test right now...

OK...all I need to do is post the link, but for some reason the framing isn't right. Any ideas why?

I have no Admin Superpowers here, David. ::)
It might be something in the forum software options. I know ours could be defined or limited in the size of the frame.
