From the Arrow Video press release:
On
November 10, two gravity-defying wuxia films,
The Blade Spares None and
The Hurricane, starring a young
Nora Miao (
Way of the Dragon), make their Blu-ray debuts in a Limited Edition two-disc set, with each film presented on its own Blu-ray. When Golden Harvest launched in 1970, the Hong Kong studio needed superstars. Producer
Raymond Chow introduced audiences to
Nora Miao in a series of wuxia films, where her lethal gymnastic moves and skill with weapons quickly made her a fan favorite.
Nora Miao would go on to appear in three films with
Bruce Lee, including
Fist of Fury. The Limited Edition release features brand-new 2K restorations by Fortune Star.
The Blade Spares None centers on an elaborate sword-fighting tournament where men battle on a small platform nearly 30 feet in the air. None can match the masterly skills of Ho Li-Chun (
Nora Miao), an assassin nicknamed The Blade Spares None. She competes to expose a disguised menace known as Devil’s Claw. The film co-stars
Patrick Tse Yin (
Shaolin Soccer) and
James Tien (
The Big Boss), with
Jackie Chan and
Sammo Hung appearing in small roles.
The Hurricane has a mysterious swordsman (
Patrick Tse Yin,
The Blade Spares None) becomes an unwitting tool in a conspiracy against the Emperor.
Nora Miao leads a trio of colorful female fighters on his trail.
Special features include High Definition (1080p) Blu-ray presentations of both films, original lossless Mandarin mono audio for both films, optional newly translated English subtitles for both films, brand-new audio commentaries on both films,
Deadly Poise, a newly filmed appreciation of
Nora Miao’s career by historian
Victor Fan,
In the Eye of the Storm, a newly filmed interview with actor and stunt coordinator
Mars, theatrical trailers, image galleries, a reversible sleeve featuring newly commissioned artwork by
Ilan Sheady, and a collectors’ booklet featuring new writing from
Camille Zaurin and
Johnny Burnett (aka The Fanatical Dragon).
