From the Synapse Films press release:
Synapse Films Unleashes a New 4K Restoration of
THE DEADLY SPAWN
From the Original Uncut 16mm Camera Negative
On
November 10, Synapse Films will release director
Douglas McKeown’s Sci-Fi/horror classic
The Deadly Spawn in separate 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray editions.
The Deadly Spawn presents the dark side of an extraterrestrial visiting Earth. When a meteorite smashes into the woods of New Jersey, a pair of curious campers discover a menacing lifeform has hitched a ride on the space rock. After killing and devouring the campers, the terrifying creature makes its way into the basement of a nearby house, whose owners become its next meal.
The kids upstairs are oblivious, believing their parents have left early for vacation. Nobody hears their screams because the youngest son, Charles (
Charles George Hildebrandt), is blasting a horror movie on the TV. The kid has no clue that there’s a living nightmare right beneath his bedroom. Making matters worse, the extraterrestrial is giving birth to hundreds of terrifying, toothy babies eager to feast on humanity. Can a horror-loving teenage boy save what remains of his family and the Earth?

I love the old school trailer! It really evokes the time and era from when this movie came out.
