Coyote vs. Acme (A true story)
Warner Brothers (A subsidiary of the Acme corporation) put this movie on the shelf a few years ago. An independent distributor bought it from them and it was just released..
I like this movie, and I give it a “ good” rating for what it is. This is mostly a movie for children who grew up watching the Looney Tunes characters.. It was occasionally funny, sometimes clever, but mostly fun, and perhaps a bit too long at an hour and 45 minutes . But I love the concept.
The premise is that Wiley Coyote seeks legal action against the Acme corporation, which has produced nothing but defective items for him over the last half century. I was hoping for a movie that might have rivaled Roger rabbit, but this Willy is not that movie.. the Looney Tunes characters do guest star, but they have nothing more than cameos in the movie as cartoon characters do intermingle with real people.
They did present themselves with a conundrum. That is, the coyote can never win. He never did in the cartoons. And winning would be capturing and eating the roadrunner. I don’t think anyone would like that. But they do manage a happy ending that touch on the heart strings just a little bit.
The movie was certainly worth the $11 we paid and saw it with maybe 25 other people during the premier showing in my neighborhood. But this is the movie you can definitely wait for streaming.
