Olympics

I don’t watch the Olympics. They do silly things. But NBC has placed on Verizon’s 4K channel so I checked it out.

They have an event called the Bathalon. But no one takes a bath. No one even gets wet.

They have several events where people get on what looks like a small surfboard and they go downhill for a few minutes, lying on their stomach. They are now completely covered in a uniform and wear a helmet that covers their face. I’m convinced it’s the same person going down each time and AI is just changing the color of their uniform.

They have this ridiculous thing called curling. Here, they take a huge bottle cap and roll it down into a bull’s-eye…while they do that two or three people with brooms are sweeping up in front of the bottle cap. I could use them in my kitchen. It needs a good sweeping. I can’t believe this is a sport. They have a men’s division and a woman’s division. They don’t need to divide them up, no one is picking up these huge curlers.

When I was a kid, we had a game called “ Scully.’ using chalk we put numbered boxes on the sidewalk and would you bottle caps into them, orphan, knocking out our opponents caps. Curling is Skully for adults.

Where do they practice? There are bowling alleys. where are the Curling .

They have a sport that’s on right now with a ski to a place, stop, and take out a gun and shoot. And I think they’re shooting at Marshall Dillon on Gunsmoke.

You describe the EXACT reason why I love the winter oly and NOT the summer. It’s a ton of sports that you have no clue about and get next to zero coverage for like 3 weeks (besides hockey). Loveeee the Winter Olympics.

My wife used to do curling when she lived in Canada. She says there wasn't a lot to do in the winter and this was better than just sitting at home doing nothing ;)

There is too much of it. But yes. That. Plus skeleton. Bobsled. Ski jumping. Biathlon. Speedskating. XC skiing. All cool to watch
