"La Tarantola dal Ventre Nero," or "The Black Belly of the Tarantula," as it is known in English, will arrive in a beautiful slipbox that features the film, along with a vast array of bonus features that provide more insight into the film and its production than ever before. The Limited Edition features a brand-new 4K transfer, newly remastered and restored in-house at Celluloid Dreams, taken from the original camera negatives and presented here on a 4K UltraHD and a Blu-ray disc for the first time in its original full-frame aspect ratio! Along with a host of new featurettes, interviews, and video essays, the release will also include the film's international cut, and a Grindhouse version, taken from an original theatrical print. The Limited Edition comes in a high-quality, side-loaded slipcase that also contains an 80-page full-color booklet and a set of 16 publicity photo reprints.

Since our last mailing, we have been busy at work, putting the final touches to our Limited Edition of Paolo Cavara's 1971 landmark giallo, "The Black Belly of the Tarantula." We have been juggling the contents of the release and various configurations to make sure we can offer the most complete package of the film that has ever been released.

With that in mind, we are proud to let you know that we have just added the widescreen version of the movie to the release!

Although it is not the film's original theatrical aspect ratio, widescreen framing has been used for the past two decades for all home video platforms, and though it does not represent the filmmakers' original vision or intent, we felt it has become such an important part of the film's history that it warrants inclusion in this release.

As a result, the content layout of the Limited Edition has changed, and the 4K UltraHD and Blu-ray feature film discs of the release will now offer both the Domestic and the International Cut of the movie using seamless branching technologies, in both its original theatrical full-frame aspect ratio and in a 1.85:1 widescreen presentation. All versions are coming from the brand new in-house restoration and master that we have been working on for the past 12 months, so they will all be presented in the best possible quality.

Holding all these film versions and cuts leaves no room for bonus features on the respective discs, so most of the special features will be placed on the third disc of the release, alongside the movie's Grindhouse Version.

As you can see above, we have also been able to finalize the cover artwork for the slipbox of the release, highlighting some of the film's most captivating moments.
