I've seen Sinners and F1, and of the two, F1 was better. 

I was honestly surprised by the number of nominations for Sinners.  It never rose above average for me.  Certainly not bad, but far from Best Picture status.

Tonight, I'll be watching Bugonia with high hopes.  I'd really like to see Frankenstein, but haven't heard if it will ever come out on disc.  Some of these may not be released until after the awards show to maximize publicity.

Agreed about F1. Technically brilliant obviously, entertaining for sure, but best movie? No.

Watched Sinners this afternoon during a snow day. I can see why it throws some people off, but being a music and blues fan and knowing some of the mythology they drew from, I enjoyed it. Charlie Patton reference, blues as literally the devil's music, and seeing Buddy Guy were fun tidbits.

I watched this last weekend and meant to write a review for it but ran out of time before the library date was up.

I liked it quite a bit, like Yorgos Lanthimos' other films.  It's certainly an oddball story, but certainly the most accessible of his movies, closer to The Favourtite than The Lobster.  Directing from a script by Will Tracy (The Menu), and based on a film by Jang Joon-hwan, the dialog is missing the trademark syntax and delivery that one would normally find in a Lanthimos feature.  It could have been used to great effect in this one.

It reminded me quite a bit of William Friedkin's film, Bug, as both deal intimately with a decent into conspiratorial madness.  Both have noteworthy performances that are true to character, keeping the audience on edge as the story progresses. 

For anyone interested, do not read the explainer text below the movie's R rating as it does give away a plot detail.

I was surprised to see it get nominated for an Oscar, but Lanthimos is no strangers to the ceremony.  It was more of a shock to see Emma Stone get a nod for best actress, but Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis get stiffed.  They carried the movie.

Then again, once they expanded the number of contenders for the big prize, they have to fill out the list with something.

I liked Poor Things more and think it's a much better movie overall, however. Emma Stone certainly doesn't seem to shy away from having odd stuff done to her character, lol.

Except for The Favorite, which I also enjoyed, I haven't seen any of Lanthimos's other films. It seems like I need to keep him in mind for future viewings.
