Thank you!

I feel a few posters in here feel like their word is gospel. And if you don’t agree your wrong and beneath them
it has been more and more like that recently.

makes me not want to post as much
Honestly, I feel the same way me as you! for example, David and I have not agreed totally on everything, but we respect each other very much. We can disagree, but not argue. and we even joke about it.

If everyone likes the same things life would be pretty boring

Hopefully not me!

Your comment about reviews is so on the mark. I remember when "Magnolia" was in theaters and the critics raved how great it was. My wife and I went to see it in the theaters and when it was over we wondered WTF those critics were raving about. Neither of us liked the movie one bit. Sure, Cruise delivered a "dramatic" performance, but I think his acting in "A Few Good Men" was better than the critically acclaimed one in "Magnolia." At least AFGM was an entertaining movie.

With the exception of Lolita I have all the films on 4K and you can see that in my picture above. However, criterion has announced that they will be releasing Lolita this year in 4K. I had hoped you had a Headstart on getting it.

craig, the review statistics that you show are not very relevant in my opinion because they are not the reviews when they first came out. For example, my favorite Kubrick movie, 2001, got very bad reviews when it first came out. Years later, people recognized it as a masterpiece.

in the case of eyes wide shut, a quarter of the reviewers who saw it did not like it. I very much trust and respect the opinions of people on this site and if they didn’t like a movie to them, it was a bad movie. Reviewers don’t make movies better or worse. try to have a gentler tone, the people on this site should be allowed to voicemtheir opinion without criticism.
I'm going to take a cue from bmoney and if I don't like a movie, I'm going to label it BAD. On that note, all animated movies are BAD! ;D

Yes, that opening prologue is touching in a way that goes far beyond what one would expect for the genre.  And the rest of the movie offers a satisfying adventure story that fits perfectly with those early themes.

Arguably one of the best Pixar movies ever made. If the first montage doesn't bring a tear to your eye, then you're a heartless person ;)

I'll never know since I'll never watch it. If it was so great, they should have made a live version of it.
