Plot
Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life working construction. But when his boss’s daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.
 
My Thoughts
Like Liam Neeson, Stratham has found a niche and he’s exploiting it to the nth degree for as long as he can. The film is directed by David Ayer and delivers exactly what fans expect—a gritty, action-packed thriller with a no-nonsense lead. The story is straightforward, leaning heavilty on Statham’s signature tough-guy persona. The action sequences are engaging and the pacing doesn’t every gob down, but the narrative feels very generic and predictable.
 
The UHD presentation shines from beginning to end with crisp and vibrant detail with the black levels inky and very layered. From Stratham’s stubble to the texture of shattered glass, the image quality is spectacular. The Dolby Atmos track is very immersive and dynamic. Gunfire and bone-crunching fights fill the soundstate with clear dialog and well-balanced effects.

Conclusion
While this doesn’t break any new ground for the genre, fans of Statham and those who crave straightforward action flicks will be pleased. The A/V quality are top-notch, making this a great showcase for home theater aficionados. My one gripe is that I’m not sure how rewatchable this film is because it’s hardly original, but if you’re a Statham completist then you’ll probably want this in your collection.
