Can V6 be used with a Seymour Premier frame?

Can V6 be used with a Seymour Premier frame?
« on: November 02, 2016, 01:23:41 PM »
Hello!  Just wondering if the V6 screen material can be used with a Seymour Premier (flat) frame.

Is it pretty much frame agnostic and can be made to fit anything?

Thanks!

Should be able to fit. You just need a small flat area a little over 1/4" wide to fasten the grip rail. Do you want to take a closeup picture of the back of your frame?

Hey Mike,

Still in the design phase and don't actually have one, but this link has some good pics:

Need to see all of the back. You can also look here and see the grip rail that needs to fit on the back of the frame.

Did I do my frame backwards? I have my screen attaching to the front of my extruded aluminum frame. I did this because my frame is not painted black. I then made a wood frame covered in black velvet that sits against the front of the frame.

No, I would attach to the front also, but I would paint aluminum frame black. :)
That is what I did, but my frame is zero void laminated Baltic Birch, cut on a curve.

Did you wrap the screen from the rear around to the front...or is the screen 100% in front of the frame? My screen is 100% in front of the frame.

Mine is on the front of the frame with separate velvet covered trim. You could wrap around to the back. That would work very well.

I did mine the right way then. :)

Thanks!

I'm curious about retrofitting my Seymour "F140XS Premier" frame. Did you ever try it and if so how well did it all fit? Thanks!

In looking at the picture Rick posted earlier in this thread, it looks like the screen fabric is a 1/4" above the flat, that is as high as the grip rail would hold the fabric. Looks to me that it works fine, but you need to get someone to measure a frame.
