JVC 4100 Projector: no picture

JVC 4100 Projector: no picture
« on: February 14, 2025, 11:33:53 PM »
Any suggestions?
I had the projector on the other day and the picture continually "flickered" but it wasn't very terrible. Now, I have no picture at all. The JVC logo appears on the screen but it also shows that there is no number 1 imput which is not correct. I checked all the cables and found no problem. I disconnected the cable end in the projector and reconnected it several times. A few times the screen did not show no input but the screen was totally blank.
Help!

Did you contact your dealer? Sounds like some Gremlins are at work.

One thing to try...unplug it for about 10 minutes (and hit the power button to discharge any power) and then see if it works. Regardless, you'll want to send it in for warranty service.

David,
Thanks for the reply. The problem was with the HDMI cable which, after centuries of using it, decided to go south. So, I've ordered a new one and I believe that will solve the problem
Thanks.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief for you. HDMI cables are very cheap by comparison :)

Were you using an active cable? How long was the run? What did you replace it with?

Had something similar on my RS2100 a few weeks ago and it turned out to be the HDMI cable having somehow come loose at the source side. Reseating the cable solved it. No idea how it happened but thankful for an easy and free fix.

I had a pink screen of Death with my RS4100 on all sources. Turns out that I must have jarred the HDMI cable going out of my Lumagen and into the projector when I removed our old AT & T U Verse cable box and related HDMI cables. I would have to figure that out with guests waiting to watch a movie!
