I've requested a review copy. Should have it later this month.
Thus movie is exactly why I try to watch most nominations. There are some gems in there I never heard about and I try out (other than your reviews haha)

The brutalist

Watched this last night I can see this being the favorite for many Oscar’s this year. It’s def got enough noms

Not the best ending but captivating with great performances.

Next up is Sing sing

Wife & I watched Conclave last night. She wanted to see it in part b/c she has a trip planned to Italy in a couple of months, and travel always motivates her to watch movies set in the destination. (I don't fly - for the time being - so she's going with a friend.)

She's a former Catholic - and liked it a lot including the ending. It's a rare but real thing and was clearly part of the setup throughout the movie, but a twist that was hard to see coming because most people won't be familiar with it. Most of the rest was fairly well telegraphed and performed.

Agreed. Glad it got recognized with best screenplay.

Just finished Anora

Um. Ok.

While a decent almost edge of your seat movie. The payoff was terrible. And it was borderline XXX film for the first 1/4

I don’t think the best movie won best picture here. I can see how she won best actress however.
