2024 NFL season

2024 NFL season

Already some big surprises this season.

Saints got off to a blazing start in their first 2 games with a new offensive staff but with the Cowboys looking like garbage on D, maybe a bit overrated - and the Eagles just grounded them.

Vikings though - getting an amazing comeback from Darnold & Brian Flores as DC.

David, what's up with the Niners? Dropping 2 straight and giving up a 10 point lead midway through the 4th qtr to a division rival looks concerning.

Big game for me tonight - LSU Heisman QB Bowl! Cincy with Joe Burrow vs Washington with Jayden Daniels. I'm pulling slightly for the Bengals as they are supposed to be legit SB contenders and Washington isn't quite there.

Oh...don't get me started. The defense does not look good and our new coordinator has called a whopping 6 blitzes through the first 3 games and continues to only rush 4. About as vanilla as vanilla can be. Also, our special teams play is more along the lines of SPECIAL NEEDS! Frankly, they cost us the game yesterday and probably the game against Minnesota as well.

Offensively we are playing fine, despite all of the injuries, but a second year WR (Ronnie Bell) dropped 3 of his 4 targets yesterday and the last one he dropped was for a big gain that would have set up the winning FG (it literally hit him right in the hands--no excuses). Purdy's been playing his rear-end off and looks like a Top 3 QB in the league (with 3 of his weapons out yesterday--CMC, Kittle, and Deebo Samuel). He threw 3 TDS and had a QB rating of 137.1, but he doesn't play defense or special teams, so he can't do it all.

The defense is really missing Dre Greenlaw and what he brings in coverage and intensity. He's very high energy and I think the rest of the defense feeds off of him. They have a "get right" game against New England next week, but since they played on a Thursday night, they've had an extra 3 days to prepare for the game. Hopefully the cross country travel counteracts their rest advantage.

At this point, I just want September to end and then they have 2 divisional games in a row--Arizona and Seattle. If they can win the next 3 games, they'll be in the driver's seat for the division. If they lose any of the next 3, then it's push the panic button time and they'll be fighting to make the playoffs.

Wow - Jayden Daniels (JD5) had his coming out party last night! I liked this guy since his first game at LSU when he showed that calm cool & collected demeanor in a big 4th qtr comeback in his first game. Kept working and improving in 2 years at LSU and went from a "maybe mid round" draft pick to #2.

Burrow & Bengals are in deep trouble now though. The D is a MASH unit but they also struggled in RZ and left points on the field last night.
