Trouble updating my j
« on: August 14, 2023, 07:19:53 PM »
I had no trouble with the jvc update last year.

Now I get a message saying that I cannot apply the new update. The projector says either the usb is not in or the usb cannot be recognised. I used three different USBs.

It was suggested that I reformat the usb to fat2 but I could not oh a windows 11 computer.

Suggestions?

Just to check - you have the update unzipped, with the folder "UD_B5A1" copied to the USB root directory? (I.e. when you open the drive in Windows Explorer, it just shows a folder with that name; if you open the folder it should have several files with names like UPDATE0.UPD.)

Did mine on Friday, no problem. Used the same USB drive from the previous update, and just verified it's formatted as FAT32.

Edit: One other thing I found is that FAT32 can only be used for smaller drives, 32GB or under. So if your USB is 64GB or more maybe try a smaller one and see if you can format to FAT32.

Update went smooth for me as well. I formatted the drive to Fat32 beforehand via Windows (right click on the drive the USB is assigned to and click Format, then Fat32). Worst part of the update is that it took the full 55 minutes!

I always reformat the drive to FAT32. No problem here - went fine.
