Too many people (on both sides) are searching for any little reason to get offended or hurt by something. It's exhausting. Just finished watching She-Hulk which got a lot of the same BS from the same folks, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Hilarious at times, really fun watch.(That's not to say some things don't cross the line into that, however. Just not nearly as much as the mob whines about.)
The Greta Gerwig-directed movie, from Warner Bros., earned a spectacular $131.5 million at the global box office in its second weekend, including an estimated $93 million domestically and $122.2 million from 70 markets overseas. That puts Barbie‘s domestic total at $351.4 million. It has earned an equally impressive $423.1 million overseas for a worldwide booty of $774.5 million after just 12 days in release (movies begin rolling out midweek overseas).
Everybody and then some is watching this movie regardless of any so called controvery. From hollywoodreporter,
Here's an interesting read on the summer blockbusters: LINKYWarning...there is some "new" in the first teaser paragraph that can be skipped. The meat of the piece is an interesting take on the successful summer movies versus the duds.
What the hell did I just watch.
You watched a fever dream biting social satire. Did you watch it with some women present? You'll get a different take if you ask women what they thought about it, which I found fascinating.
