So I received my screen sample of StudioTek 100 today and i am a little confused. The sample has two sides, one with a label that says "Studiotek 100" and the other side which is blank.If I view the labeled side, the result is noticably brighter than my Da-Lite Matte White sample. The image also has a slight sparkly look to it which is evident on bright scenes with panning. This is the artifact that I'm looking to avoid.If I flip the sample over and view the other side, the image is a little bit dimmer and has zero sparkle texture that I can identify. This side looks amazing and it is what I want.So which side is correct? Or did I accidentally receive a sample of Studiotek 130 instead that was not labeled properly? Or do I just prefer the backside of Studiotek 100?
Without seeing the sample I can only speculate. The Studiotek 100 has zero sparkle. Either you received a mis-marked sample or the sample somehow got contaminated by the guy or gal who was cutting the samples. (A small amount of contamination could happen if the sample cutter was handling some very high gain material prior handling the Studiotek 100). With that said, if you PM me your mailing address, I will personally get you a new sample and do a visual inspection of the materiel prior to sending. Hope that helps.Best,Don
Done! Thanks Don.I don't see anything weird when viewing the sample under normal lighting. Only using the projector was showing what I described.
How flat do the retractable screens hang? Are they competitive to a fixed screen in this regard even ten years later?
