Go to the local library, I am sure they have copies available to check out. :)

Finally watched this last night with my wife and a bunch of friends. Great film - which is true to the actual events other than a couple of minor additions. I thought it sounded great. The picture looked outstanding on my RS4100 - that's for sure!

It's interesting that Glen Powell read the book about this story and recommended it be made into a movie. Quite a different role for him from Maverick - good actor!

My wife wished that her Dad had seen it before he passed away a couple of years ago - he was a Korean War vet, and had shrapnel in him still from the war that prevented him from getting MRI's. He would have loved it.

Scott,

I was surprised as well. I will say that the DTS mix was damn good though, especially the LFE. The flight sequences are pretty impressive as well--the same crew that did Top Gun: Maverick did this movie as well and it shows. In same ways it's actually better because the plane used to capture the flight from the rear could be extremely close to the action since the planes had props versus jets (didn't have to worry about the output from the jet engines).
We finally got this movie this week and my wife and I both liked it a lot.  I agree with you about the flight sequences, and I actually preferred them over the ones in Maverick.  They felt more intimate and immediate, and gave me a better feeling of actually being there.

One minor thing that I found to be distracting was Powell's near-constant smile.  He's a likeable actor, but at times it felt inappropriate for the scene.  Not enough to hurt the movie, but it almost felt like I was missing out on some kind of joke.

Watching the extras, it was clear just how much the people interviewed put into the movie.  The story meant something special to each of them, and that love came through in the production itself.

The DTS mix was good for being just 5.1.  Interestingly, the Kaleidescape 4K version is in Atmos, which is puzzling to me.  4K Blu-ray is niche, and Kaleidescape is even more of a niche product.  So why is the studio putting out the 4K Blu-ray with just a 5.1 soundtrack when there is an Atmos version available?  Both formats are supposed to be premium products.

Youthman will be doing a live interview with André Floyd of Kaleidescape Sunday night, and questions are welcome.  I'm going to see if I can get any insight on how they're approaching the studios on the soundtrack issue.  Devotion isn't the only case where this is happening, but it's one of the most recent examples.

My guess is the K-scape has worked out a deal with the studios and may pay some of the royalty for anything downloaded from their service. I don't know for sure, but that would be my guess. They want every reason possible to get enthusiasts to buy their product.
