Really? You're the first who I've heard that didn't like it. My wife and I loved it!
Barry, the vast majority of "new" films are just "sit-throughable." Quality films are so hard to come by these days, which makes films like "The Duke" that much more enjoyable (as well as "Belfast," a film I finally got to see last week--it's excellent). For the most part, I try and take them for what they are--mindless entertainment and don't get too emotionally invested either way. I'm just looking for the escape.
David, we saw Belfast over the weekend. I was surprised that it was in black-and-white that is so uncommon today. Judi Dench is always great but the rest of the castle is very good Too. This was a good movie, more intense than I expected and it was sad seeing a pair of preteens break up at the end. The movie deserves more publicity, a few people know about it. It was certainly worth watching thanks a lot.

Let me just say this again isn’t Judi Dench terrific?I know how you feel about movies and how very few are very good and I don’t disagree. I just happened to think it’s always been like that and it’s not more so lately. But I love it that we share what we like. I never would’ve known about this movie had you not mentioned it on a post about another movie. And I’m glad that someone will watch on her Majesty secret service because I suggested it. Just don’t ever see the movie “The Spirit.”🥹
Totally agree. Dench is fabulous, but that little boy stole the show, in my opinion. He was just so damn cute and genuinely funny. I loved the scene with his cousin when they were discussion how to tell the difference between a Catholic and a Protestant based upon the persons name. Both my wife and I were LOL.
Just finished lost cityLoved it. Credits scene was great as well Wife will love this. Must get her to watch it
