Plot A cocky ad executive, Marcus (Eddie Murphy) has a reputation as a ladies' man. However, Marcus gets a taste of his own medicine when a merger finds him working under the beautiful Jacqueline (Robin Givens), who has a similarly cavalier attitude about romance. Marcus and Jacqueline become involved, but he is put off by her noncommittal approach to their relationship. Meanwhile, Marcus also begins to develop feelings for the pretty Angela (Halle Berry), who is more thoughtful than Jacqueline.
My ThoughtsHarmless fun, that’s the best way to describe this film. Murphy essentially plays himself and doesn’t provide a breakout role as the ladies’ man that has the shoe dropping onto the other foot. What’s the most fun about this movie is how many household names make appearances such as David Alan Grier, Martin Lawrence, and Chris Rock. Furthermore, the soundtrack is outstanding, and it topped the Billboard charts earning triple platinum status.
The presentation is about what you’d expect from a 30-year-old film. The print is in decent shape for a catalog release and the 5.1 DTS-HD track features intelligible dialog and highlights the kick-ass music.

Conclusion Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite entertainers of all-time. Sure, he delivers a stinker every now and then, but if you like his schtick, it’s on full display here and there are quite a few laughs to be had. Recommended for fans.
