       Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection in 4K
Frankenstein, Dracula, Invisible Man and the Wolfman
 
What a wonderful surprise this was, four of the greatest Horror movies in spectacular 4k.
 
Horror and sci-fi movies do not get the prestige that serious drams get, yet this movies have lasted ninety years and created a genre that is still popular today. So I am NOT going to review these movies, they are outstanding for what they were at the time they were made.  And imitated ever since.
 
These are the first black and white movies I have seen in 4k and the 4K presentation is outstanding.  It was really like I was back in the movie theatre. I had seen these movies in grey and grey, not the spectacular black and white they are in 4k. The contrast and details were outstanding in all four movies but got better as the movies, such as Wolfman got “younger.” I saw things I never saw before.  And the sound was a vast improvement. Again, the Wolfman soundtrack and score was beautiful. I did like the blu rays of a few years ago, but this is an amazing step up.
 
Added to the sets are dozens of bonus features that I have not gotten through yet.  If you love these movies, think seriously about tgetting these. My only regret is that Bride of Frankenstein was not included.
