Some of the reviews of the RS4100 are looking fantastic. From the recent German review -

" Frame Interpolation

In "Tenet", we already like the crisp Warner Bros. logo with its rich red, panning into the picture. During the camera movements, the audience can be clearly seen in the opera. The conductor's tuxedo has all the elements present in the original. The ride on the catamaran not only impresses with its high vividness, thanks to the high ANSI/in picture contrast, but also with the natural movement representation. If the 24 Hz playback is already flawless without intermediate image calculation, the sharpness increases visibly with "Clear Motion Drive - Low" without the infamous soap opera effect occurring. On closer inspection, we can perceive minimal artifacts around the protagonist's head, which disappear completely when "Movement Improvement - High" is additionally selected. These circumstances are due to the fact that JVC was able to reprogram frame interpolation due to the further developed D-ILA chips. "

Does anybody know yet if the tone mapping is improved on the new units or the same as before?
I am contemplating a Lumagen but obviously will wait to see if it has improved.

This is a yes and a no. I think the tone mapping is pretty much the same, but JVC has added an auto mode, more adjustments and the projectors have more light output. So HDR should be better on the new models. With that said, the Lumagen still does a better job and requires less light to do so. What I am saying, for JVC tone mapping to look about the same as Lumagen tone mapping you need a little more brightness on screen. Also, on the real tough scenes, the Lumagen outperforms the JVC alone.

It will be a good upgrade. Native 4K, laser and the improvements in HDR handling are going to be a good step up from your RS600.

Thanks Mike. How much more brightness do you think?
I should be running about 30fl after calibration according to calculators.
Also, my main reason for getting the Lumagen would be the better TM and the auto aspect feature. Is it a worthy purchase just for that?
Thanks.

Yeah for you the upgrade is a little tougher to choose but should still be a pretty major improvement.

Happy Black Friday!!

Regarding the new JVC projectors, a good friend of mine works for a distributor of JVC and was privy to a viewing of the 3100 & 4100!  He said they were game changers and will blow the Sony's at the same price point out of the water!  I'm ordering my NZ7/2100 next week, most likely with 160" Center Stage XD screen.....although Craig was kind enough to send me samples of the v6 and v7 so I might change my mind on screen material!?!?  Either way I couldn't be more excited about these JVC 2nd generation 4K (8K-eShift) Laser projectors!!!

I was about to order the NX7/RS2000 when my friend told me to wait and sure enough a month later JVC officially announced their new line!!!!!

Awesome to hear this! Thanks for posting. As far as the screens you can't go wrong with either the XD or Dreamscreen.
