Superman 4K
There are actually three versions of this movie available.
1. The original Motion Picture
2. My favorite, The Richard Donner extended version.
3. The extended TV version which is combined with Superman 2.
This is the original motion picture which I originally saw in 70mm in the theater. And I loved it. The movie opens up in black and white on a 3 x 4 screen in monaural. It then becomes color, then widescreen and stereo. Then it became surround sound and now it becomes Atmos.
The sound is terrific in this movie could have become a go to movie for showing Atmos. But unfortunately, it runs into a problem it is had since the beginning of home theater. I have seen this movie on beta. VHS, Laser Disc, DVD and Blu Ray. The white reflected costumes and scenery at the beginning of the movie washout the faces of the people of krypton. While good coloring returns halfway through the movie even the beginning scenes in small bill seem to have the flesh colors washed out.
It’s still a good movie and the sound is terrific but if they were to overcome that opening problem this would be a go to movie to display your Dolby sound.
